1 Get up late
2 Leave castle after yummy breakfast
3 Cycle up 23 miles of spectacular scenery to top of Highland mountain but it is very gradual, nearly flat
4 Decide to set off for pub/hotel at bottom of 7 mile hill
5 Whizz down 7 miles like the Cresta Run - no pedals!
6 Find pub no longer open - nowhere else for 27 miles
7 Sit and eat malt loaf, hobnobs and cup of flask tea by bridge
8 Cycle along Loch Naver slightly downhill all the 27 miles
9 Arrive at destination really early and it is beautiful and by the sea
10 Have a husband with car coming to see us for the evening
11 Know you only have to do this for one more day and tomorrow night we will be on HOLIDAY!!!
53 miles - amazing country and easiest ride to date

Hi GBR
ReplyDeleteThat last song was another I one made up to a familiar tune! To finish I think this song will suit the occasion very well. Just few minor tweaks so it is about you with thanks to Freddie Mercury.
We've found our way -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of rain splashed in my face -
But I've come through.
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on riding - till the end -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - G B R!
We'll take our bows
And our curtain calls -
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it.
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise -
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
And I ain't gonna lose.
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on riding - til the end -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - G B R!
Have a wonderful holiday.
Mervion
Well done team GBR - really a fantastic effort.
ReplyDeleteWe've been following your very entertaining blog all fortnight while we've been slogging around the country too. Enjoy the view from the final hill and the free-wheel into John O'Groats tomorrow!
Best wishes
Mike, Amanda, Adam and Hannah Yorwerth
Best wishes for the final push and look forward to hearing (and seeing) the whole story before too long. Well done!
