Hi all
After great Chinese Takeaway last night to sustain us, peddalled off into the unknown again. We're never quite sure what county we're in! Was it Cumbria, Cumberland, Westmoreland or North Yorkshire today? Or all 4! Perhaps you can tell us!
Lunch in pub where we met another end to ender, who decided to do it on impulse and much speedier then us, armed with a road map and a lot of confidence. Today is the last day Brian will be pedalling with us, he joined us at Slaidburn but he's back to Bradford tomorrow for a bit of a rest! It's been lovely having extra company to keep us going and see you at JOG Brian!
Highlight of the day (apart from getting to the other end of the days cycle) was running into a herd of sheep being sheperded along by a dog and motoring friend. They seemed to lose half the sheep down a lane and left the rest to run wild down the roads!!
Out for a night on the town (wish) in Carlisle. Actually quick meal and straight, once again, for a very early night as we just can't keep up the pace these days.
BIG THANKS FOR ALL CONTRIBUTIONS we have received for our donation sites. It is so wonderful that you are all supporting us and we love reading the comments when we reach a place where the signal works!
See you same place tomorrow!

48 miles - not too bad!
A chance to catch up with you having escaped from brownie camp to go to work - and what progress!!! Amazing - sure you haven't hopped on a train or two? So impressed at how fantastically well you are doing. And sounds like you are having a few laughs as well. Hope the weather's kind to you. Good luck for bonny Scotland!Judith
ReplyDeleteI am writing lists of things we'll need for the meal we're going to cook for you when you finish your ride. Pink champagne, red wine may have to be bought before we get to John O'Groats as I'm not sure the local Londis or whatever will stock it. How about haggis, neeps and tatties? Go well with champagne, what do you think? You are amazing, by the way. Keep going: think of pink champagne!
ReplyDeleteWell, you must be in Scotland by now. Crumbs!
ReplyDeleteHere's the Pushbike Song to celebrate.
Sh, sh, ahh, sh, sh, ahh
Ridin along on my pushbike, honey,
When I nowhere near you.
Round down town, in a hurry, honey,
Now I've got my sights on you.
You look so pretty, she was riding along.
You look so pretty, she was singing this song.
Sh, sh, ahh, sh, sh, ahh
Putting on speed, as I tried catchin up, but you
Were pedaling harder too.
Riding along like a hurricane, honey,
Speeding after you.
You look so pretty etc
Brr, sing this song,
Round, round wheels go round and round,
Down, up pedals, down up down.
We've gotta get to the other side of town
Before the sun goes down.
Hey, Hey, Hey
Sh, sh,ahh etc
Well we're riding along on a bicycle , honey,
That's a bicycle made for two.
Looking at my honey in the rearview mirror.
Now I've got a better view
You look so pretty, etc
Hope you enjoy working out how many sh, sh, ahhs to sing - and playing around with the words.
Next up - one from Madness.
Al the best
Mervion
